We really must have some way of preventing this happening!May 16 '06 - Miranda Joubioux When there are several apparently matching concepts already in the system, and we want to merge them, I guess it's helpful to begin by selecting the one that already contains the greatest amount of valid data. This concept is a mess! - we have 'English' in collections of 'law: patents' and 'electronics, mechanics and chemistry for patent translation'; we have a term variant for English which is 'inglese'; and we have a translation of English which is 'italiano'. Gee!
I'm reminded of the fellow who stopped another in the street in Dublin and asked his way to Killarney. The reply came: 'yer know - if I were goin' to Killarney, I wudn't start from 'ere'.May 16 '06 - mediamatrix I think that "language" should either be in brackets in the head word or should not be there at all, since the definition states clearly that it refers to the language. If we keep this, it means that we have to change every reference to every language to include the word "language" in the head word to keep wikiwords coherent.
I don't think this is actually necessary.May 17 '06 - Miranda Joubioux
